When reporting a bug, include your Chrome version, operating system, extension version (at the bottom of the settings screen) and the address of the page you tried to capture — it helps us fix it much faster. [Email us] in the settings fills in the version details for you.
FAQ
- Where are my saved files? In the Wholeshot folder inside your Downloads folder. Click [Show in folder] on the result screen to open it. Even before you save, the result screen shows where the file will go and its name on the right. To choose a location every time, turn on "Ask where to save each time" in the settings.
- Only part of the page was captured. When a page has several areas that scroll, Wholeshot captures the largest one first. Click [Recapture a different area] on the result screen and pick the area you want with the number keys. Apps that draw on a canvas, such as maps and whiteboards, cannot be captured by scrolling, so only the visible screen is captured; the result screen explains why.
- The shortcut (Alt+Shift+S) does not work. If another extension already uses the same keys, Chrome leaves the Wholeshot shortcut empty. Click [Change shortcut] in the Wholeshot settings and set a different key.
- Why can I not capture Chrome settings pages, the Web Store or PDFs? Chrome blocks extensions from those pages. Files on your computer (file://) can be captured after you turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for Wholeshot in Chrome’s extension settings.
- A very long page was split into several images. Pages taller than the image height limit (32,767 px) are split automatically. PNG saves one file per part; PDF (image) saves everything in one file.
